While writing for print media, Mal had the pleasure of professionally reviewing films and night clubs, even researching a book on the topic of Unexplained Phenomena. He also enjoyed two years as a reporter for BBC Radio One.

Mal later developed a hobby into a profession, promoting and hosting live comedy shows and producing a diverse range of comedy classes, each one tutored by a working professional. Mal has compèred over 1000 shows, and has learned much from experiencing the hardest crashes to the most laughter-filled successes.

Mal has developed a unique perspective on the art of performance, how to develop material, and how to focus on the facts and the funny. He has learned how to "trust in the flow” and has extensively studied how to “read the room.”
